Madill Girls Soccer Club Closes Campaign with Playoff Loss to Harding Prep Friday

An indirect free kick by Harding Prep less than two minutes into the second half resulted in the only goal scored Friday night in the Madill girls 1-0 soccer playoff loss. The Madill soccer matches at Chickasha have been changed to Thursday (April 20). The varsity girls match begins at 5:30 p.m. with the varsity boys match set for 7:30 p.m. The junior varsity boys play at 4 p.m.

According to Madill soccer head coach Jose Cortes,  girls goalie Maritza Ortiz turned away three Elgin penalty kicks  to help preserve a 2-1 victory Tuesday on the road. The Madill soccer girls team claimed a 3-1 win on the road Tuesday night against Newcastle. Alyssa Emery accounted for two Lady ‘Cats goals and Guadalupe Comacho kicked the other. Unfortunately, the Wildcats lost 3-2 in double overtime to the Racers. Cruz Gomez and Jose Guevara each collected a goal for Madill in the effort.
